The fine print, plainly stated
Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Daniel Trader, operating as Daniel Trader Creative ("Daniel Trader Creative," "I," "me," or "my"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit www.danieltrader.app, submit a project inquiry, or otherwise communicate with me about creative services.
1. Information I collect
Information you provide
When you use the project inquiry form or contact me directly, I may collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- the project details and other information you choose to include in your message; and
- later correspondence and records connected with your inquiry or a resulting business relationship.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential trade secrets, payment-card information, government identification numbers, health information, or information about another person unless it is necessary and you are authorized to share it.
Information processed automatically
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may process technical and usage information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, request details, referring page, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, and server logs. The contact endpoint also temporarily uses an IP address in memory to limit repeated submissions and reduce spam. That rate-limit history is designed to expire after approximately ten minutes, although hosting-provider logs may be retained under the provider's own practices.
2. How I use information
I use personal information to:
- receive, review, and respond to project inquiries;
- communicate about requested services, availability, estimates, proposals, and potential or active projects;
- provide services and maintain business records if we decide to work together;
- protect the website, prevent spam, investigate misuse, and troubleshoot technical problems;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce agreements; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
I do not use contact-form information to enroll you in a marketing list without separate permission.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where a law such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR requires a legal basis, I process inquiry information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, to perform a contract, and for legitimate interests in operating a creative-services business, responding to communications, preventing abuse, and maintaining appropriate records. I may also process information to comply with legal obligations or with your consent where consent is the appropriate basis. You may withdraw consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect processing already performed lawfully.
4. How information is disclosed
I do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. I may disclose information only as reasonably necessary:
- to Vercel, which hosts the website and processes network requests and technical logs;
- to Resend, which transmits contact-form submissions by email;
- to email, communications, storage, security, accounting, legal, or other service providers supporting my business;
- to professional advisers where confidentiality protections apply;
- to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request, or to protect rights, safety, and security;
- in connection with a business reorganization, transfer, or succession, subject to appropriate protections; or
- with your direction or consent.
These providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Their handling of information is also governed by their own terms, privacy notices, and contractual obligations.
5. Cookies and analytics
Daniel Trader Creative does not currently place advertising cookies or operate a first-party behavioral analytics program on this website. The hosting infrastructure may use essential technologies or produce technical logs to operate and protect the service. If analytics, advertising technology, or other materially different tracking is added later, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before or when that change takes effect.
6. Retention
Inquiry information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. An inquiry that does not become a project is ordinarily retained for up to 24 months after the last substantive communication so I can follow up, understand prior discussions, prevent abuse, and maintain business continuity. If an inquiry becomes a client relationship, relevant communications and records may be kept for the duration of that relationship and afterward as needed for contracts, taxes, accounting, insurance, dispute resolution, and other legal or business obligations. Information may be retained longer when required by law, needed for a legal claim, or preserved in secure backups until those backups cycle out.
7. Security
I use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including HTTPS transmission, server-side validation, origin restrictions, spam controls, and access controls provided by the hosting and email services. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to request access to personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about its use and disclosure; to object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to appeal or complain to an appropriate privacy regulator. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a legally protected privacy right.
You may submit a request by emailing howdy@danieltrader.app. To protect personal information, I may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority. I will respond within the period required by applicable law. If an authorized agent submits a request, proof of authorization and direct identity verification may be required.
Because I do not sell personal information or share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, there is currently no sale or advertising-sharing opt-out required for these practices.
9. Children
This website offers professional creative services and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact me so I can review and delete it where appropriate.
10. Third-party sites
The portfolio contains links to client websites, publications, social platforms, and other third-party services. I do not control their privacy or security practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.
11. Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy as the website, service providers, or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted or otherwise communicated when required by law.
